Strategy for development of local outdoor activities in Hérault (France)

The Tourism & Handicap and Adventure Tourism teams of Hérault are associated in the development of strategy with the Pôle de Pleine Nature "Montagnes du Caroux", which is a part of INHERITURA area.

The strategy targets the development of local outdoor activities practices, which are sustainable and accessible for all.

The objectives of the sports centre for the disabled are:

  • Allowing the rehabilitation of people in a natural environment by involving health professionals;
  • Allowing easier access to the greenway and paths for people with reduced mobility and seniors;
  • Increasing the visibility of the adapted offer;
  • Making Lamalou-les-Bains a place of reference for the practice of APN (Activities Plain Air) for all.

Other projects are included in the action plan: purchase of equipment for disabled persons, publication of an ebook "Caroux Mountains For All" with 8 accessible routes, further on, the creation of all-terrain wheelchair trails and bungee jumping accessible to people with reduced mobility, etc.
