"Clean Calanques" on the Côte Bleue (France)

"Clean Calanques" will take place in the project pilot site of AIFM. This operation has been organized for more than 20 years: it is a large-scale waste collection that federates on one day the actors of the territory of the Metropolis of Aix-Marseille committed to the protection of nature and the reduction of litter.

It was in 1993 that the first citizen cleaning operation under the name "Calanques Propres" took place. Since then, the initiative has grown and brings every year more partners and citizens willing to bring their commitment and support.

To give an idea, last year, despite the COVID-19 situation, the garbage collection took place on 36 places simultaneously with 930 participants and more than 50 participating structures.

This operation is part of the will of the regional actors to keep these places as intact as possible and also to protect the existing biodiversity from anthropic impact. With  the same aims,  the operation "cleaning of the Calanques of the La Vesse and Niolon" organized by the actors of the community of Rove, will invites the citizens for a big operation of waste collection on June 12th.
